"The Good, the Bad and the Overhead" celebrates artistic expression in a medium that is almost forgotten in the age of overwhelming digital reproduction: the overhead projector.
The project explores the possibility of revitalizing this old, abandoned media and, without slipping into nostalgia, the potential for artistic intervention in order to transform it into medium for creative storytelling.
Throughout the duration of the Festival, the old-school overhead projector is re-activated as a powerful instrument for projecting sitespecific analog video environments on the Geozavod building windows. As artists construct location inspired narratives, abstract or realistic, and fit them in this magnificent space, they also explore the concepts of the 'DIY', 'interactive', 'real-time' and 'tangible', concepts, all of which are very ‘of-the-moment’ (so hyped –ovo ‘hyped’ ima negativne konotacije – ne znam da li je to potrebno u kontekstu teksta) in digital media.

Overhead workshop: In recent years, artists from a range of diverse art backgrounds have been attempting to re-establish the overhead as a medium which is still meaningful today, hacking it in DIY electronics and robotics workshops, appropriating it in mixed-media installations, and performing with it in live cinema-like audiovisual experiences.
The workshop is about a playful and artistic exploration of the overhead projector. It is aimed at everybody wanting to develop the overhead projector-based light/sound or performance works. The works created during the workshop will presented to the public in the final presentation.
