Ghost Project is an international platform for talented individuals in the area of industrial design. The slogan ‘Get Real!’, announces the entry into production and invites designers to use limitations as an inspiration.

Having had a long journey, starting its life as a small local exhibition of unfulfilled projects, Ghost Project has grown to represent the largest regional review of design talent from around the world. In hearing the needs of young designers, the initiative Ghost Project has, over a six year period, managed to evolve into an international movement which acts on several fronts: it educates the public and the media about business potentials and about the role that design plays in society; it stimulates an exchange between designers from different cultural backgrounds; it establishes a line of communication of young talented individuals and established world designers; it gives industrial representatives a unique insight into invaluable design resources and initiates the cooperation of the creative sector with the producers from the region. Under the slogan ‘Get Real!’, Ghost Project 2012 announces an important stride in its support of innovative ideas – the launch of its own production line. In the second round of the competition, an international judging panel, chaired by the renowned world designer Konstantin Grcic, will decide which projects will be manufactured under a new, independent label ‘Mikser Design’ for two lines of projects – the regional collection ‘Young Balkan Designers’ and the international line ‘Ghost Project’. The chosen projects for the production lines ‘Ghost Project’ and ‘Young Balkan Designers’, will tour regional events such as: Vienna Design Week, Budapest Design Week, Dan D in Zagreb, Sofia design Week, Sarajevo Design Week, Skopje Design Week, amongst others. The new event to emerge recently is the ‘Design Marathon’ – an interactive showcase of the participants of the Ghost Project exhibition, using ordinary presentations and discussions throughout Mikser festival.

The exhibition Ghost Project 2012 introduces innovative objects and materials, whose production is cost-effective and does not damage the environment. The pieces are chosen in an international competition, open to all designers up to the age of 35. The project mentor and the leader of the selecting committee is the internationally recognised designer, Konstantin Grcic, whose dedication and rich professional experience is invaluable to the development of the project.

266 people have entered the Ghost Project in 2012.
