Mikser organisation
MIKSER is a multidisciplinary, multicultural platform that aims to affirm the cultural industry of the region and organize the largest regional festival of creativity.
Mikser is a non-for-profit network of professionals and enthusiasts involved in production of various trans-cultural projects dedicated to development of creative economy in Serbia and the region. Mikser organizes competitions, exhibitions, cultural events, conferences, educational courses and lectures. The results of Mikser's collaborations are projects that establish dialog between contemporary global tendencies and local creative scene and industries.
With a goal to increase visibility of young local talents in the field of industrial design, Mikser developed Ghost project – the biggest regional expo of young design talents, as well as Young Balkan Designers platform developed on the basis of Young Serbian Designers project which brought Serbian design potential to a global spotlight, now dedicated to exposing regional designers. One of these projects` main objectives is to bring the attention of the manufacturers, media and the public to our domestic and regional creative potential, and to encourage industries to engage experienced and promising local designers in their business enterprises.
Providing practical platform for interaction between designers, architects, artists, manufactures, companies, independent organizations, governmental institutions and media, Mikser organization initiated and manages its own signature festival for creative businesses simply called Mikser. For only two years Mikser festival established itself as the biggest regional festival of creativity with strong emphasis on multidisciplinary and multicultural approach. Mikser festival takes place in the last week of May, at a breathtaking industrial complex on the Danube waterfront, only 700 m from the heart of Belgrade. During 6 festival days in late May each year, Mikser showcases executed projects and initiatives by more than 1.000 participants. In 2010 Mikser festival visited 40.000 visitors and 420 registered journalists.
With its agenda to become a celebration of content diversity, Mikser is blurring the boundaries between disciplines and enhances interaction among various fields of creativity such as design, art, architecture, environmental issues, business, new media, music, film and theatre.
